Christmas Coloring Contest Winners
Contest held December 15th - January 15th
We at Gather and Pray want to THANK YOU so much for making our Christmas Coloring Contest such a success! We sincerely hope you enjoyed this fun family activity and hope you’ll join us again next year.
There were an astounding 278 entries total, with 100+ from each of the kid categories! Taking that into account, we increased the number of winners from 14 to 25, taken mostly from the two younger categories. We truly wish we could send everyone a prize!
The winners were chosen jointly by Rebecca (our illustrator) and Olivia, based on age-appropriate skill, and overall beauty and impact. All winners will be contacted by email as a reply to their original entry this week to claim their prizes. Take a look at their beautiful work below! (If you’d like to look through ALL the entries, they are saved in highlight bubbles on Rebecca’s Instagram.)
First Place Winners:
-
0–7: Evie B., age 6. Evie used a beautiful robin's egg blue color for Mary’s robe and Jesus' blanket, which contrasts really well with the orange/gold of the shepherds and the border, and the yellow of the star. The spotted cow and sheep with the pink noses are super cute!
-
8–12: Lucia S., age 11. The vibrant and saturated color scheme, details on Mary’s robe and the extra rays of light, and bright lighting inside the cave directly behind baby Jesus create a warm, harmonious piece with an obvious focal point!
-
13–17: Maria G., age 15. Maria used acrylic paint and colored pencils in muted colors to achieve a stunningly smooth texture, delicate shading, and a calm, soft mood. The subtle blush of Mary’s face is just lovely.
-
18+: Maria Loh – the spectacular lighting, vibrant colors, and extra details like stars in the sky and shadows for every small rock. The field leading to Bethlehem almost looks like it is sparkling!
