When will I receive my first week of Mass Prep?
We send Mass Prep every Saturday morning. If you join before Friday morning, you’ll get your first message right away that Saturday. If you happen to miss that cutoff, no worries—your first text will arrive the following week. We chose Saturdays so you and your family have plenty of time to read, reflect, and prepare for Mass in the way that works best for you.
What phone number will my Mass Prep messages get sent to?
During checkout, you will be prompted to input a phone number for billing. This phone number will be pulled and used for your Mass Prep weekly messages! If you need to change the phone number attached to your account, feel free to reach out to us at customerservice@gatherandpray.co
Can additional family members join my account and receive the weekly text messages?
Each subscription is tied to a single phone number, so only one person will receive the weekly text. Many families choose to read the message together or share it by forwarding the text, if needed. If other family members or friends would like to receive Mass Prep directly on their own phones, they will need to start their own subscription.
I am not receiving the Mass Prep messages. How can I fix this?
We're sorry to hear you're having trouble receiving your Mass Prep messages. If you signed up after Friday morning, your first text will be sent the following week. If you're still not receiving messages, it may be your phone filtering them into a hidden folder. Check your Messages app for “Unknown Senders,” “Spam,” or “Blocked Messages.” If you find us there, mark the message as “Not Spam” or move it back to your inbox so future texts arrive normally. Super easy to use and whole family can join in!
The only thing that would make it better is if I received it one day earlier, on Friday.
This platform has really helped our family engage at Mass more as well as take away a wealth of information from the readings that we can talk about. It’s neat to see my 5 y/o son look up at me as the Gospel is being read at Mass and whisper, “I know this”. Would recommend to anyone!
Love the weekly mass prep! I have found we get so much more out of Mass being prepared and having the discussions before and afterwards. I enjoy that there are discussion prompts for various age groups as I have a wide range of kiddos as well as a youth ministry.
Mass prep is great for our whole family, we all walk into Mass with prepared hearts, and the opportunity to go deeper with our kids is so helpful.

I’m a homeschooling mom with four little ones, and we recently moved, so things have been a bit hectic—including trying new parishes. I signed up for Gather & Pray’s Mass Prep because I wanted something simple to help my kids feel more connected at Mass. Every Saturday, they send a text with the Sunday readings, a short reflection, and some really helpful prompts to talk about with your kids. I usually read it aloud in the car on the way to Mass, so it’s fresh in their minds, and then on Monday morning, we go a little deeper. The kids know we’ll be talking about it again, and that has really helped them pay more attention and retain what they heard.
